What kind of game is this? This cult game, released by Epoch in 1991, is based on the world-famous anime and manga series about the lively elementary school girl Maruko. The gameplay is a lovingly designed virtual board game (similar to a combination of Monopoly and The Game of Life), where players roll dice to move through a calendar with a total of 365 days. Depending on the date you land on, charming events at school or at home are triggered. Of course, Maruko’s family, her best friend Tama-chan, and all her well-known classmates are part of the fun. A delightful and very accessible 16-bit import joy for fans of classic anime video games!
