GameBoy Classic: Power Module
Product Description:
Give your GameBoy Classic (DMG-01) the power it deserves for modern upgrades. When you install a high-resolution IPS display in your retro console, the original power board, over 30 years old, often reaches its limits. The result: flickering images, lower brightness, or an annoying hum in the speaker.
This high-quality power module was specially designed to replace the old, often faulty DC-DC converters. It delivers an extremely stable and clean voltage, perfectly tailored to the requirements of modern high-brightness IPS LCDs. The more efficient power management also reduces the typical background noise (audio hum) that often occurs with IPS modifications.
A must-have for every professional DMG mod to ensure the console's longevity and get the best visual experience from your IPS kit.
Why only for IPS displays?
Original GameBoy screens require a special negative voltage for contrast control. However, this modern power module is consistently optimized for efficiency with modern technology and provides an optimized 5V rail. Since the negative voltage rail is missing here, the board is not compatible with original passive-matrix displays.
