The GameBoy Classic (DMG-01) from 1989 is the console where it all began. But as much as we love the gray casing, the original display without backlighting is hardly playable today. The Laminated Q5 IPS Kit from Hispeedido catapults your "fridge" straight into the modern age.
This kit is pre-laminated, which means the high-resolution IPS panel and the glass screen are already firmly bonded together. The result? Absolutely brilliant contrast, no annoying light reflections, and above all: never again dust behind the screen! With an 11% larger viewing area and perfect 16-to-1 integer scaling, your classics look better than ever before.
Installation tip: To save you the tedious cutting of the original plastic casing, we offer perfectly fitting Pre-Cut Casing specially optimized for this laminated display.

Operation via the Contrast Knob:
Hispeedido has brilliantly solved the control – you simply use the existing wheel:

Turn: Adjusts brightness (15 levels).

Short Press: Cycles through the 8 different color modes.

Long Press: Opens the OSD menu for advanced settings (image position, battery indicator, pixel effects).
Important Notes:

Casing Modification: Due to the larger display, the original DMG casing must be modified inside. We strongly recommend our Laminated Pre-Cut Casing, where these modifications are already done at the factory.

Solder-Free Installation: Control via the wheel works without soldering. Only small solder points are needed for the speaker.

Custom Colors: Each of the 8 color modes can be manually adjusted – over 65,000 colors per mode are possible.
