Nintendo GameBoy Classic Custom – Black Neon Clean Edition (Q5 OSD Display Mod)

Nostalgia meets an exceptionally masterful cyberpunk design! This original Nintendo GameBoy Classic (DMG-01) has been professionally cleaned, completely refurbished, and rebuilt in the elegant Black Neon Clean Design.

The front shell impresses with glowing neon-blue sketch and blueprint accents on a deep-black background. Unlike the OVP version, the Clean version features a particularly minimalist black screen bezel, giving the handheld an even more modern look. The back shines in a slightly transparent, smoky black (Smoke Black) shell.

As part of the restoration, high-quality new parts were installed: a brand-new shell, new silicone pads for a crisp button response, a new speaker for crystal-clear retro sound, and a scratch-resistant tempered-glass screen lens.

The installed Q5 OSD Display Mod offers approximately 11% more screen area than the original DMG display and delivers razor-sharp contrast. The OSD menu can be opened using the side dial, making it easy to adjust brightness, various color palettes, and retro pixel effects.

Important note about the power supply: When operating with rechargeable batteries, please be sure to use 1.5V AA rechargeable batteries (or standard 1.5V batteries). Conventional 1.2V NiMH rechargeable batteries often provide too little voltage for the IPS display - although the GameBoy will turn on, the screen may remain black due to the insufficient voltage!

Controls & OSD Menu (Operation)

The Q5 OSD display is conveniently controlled using the side contrast dial:

• Turn (up / down): Directly adjusts the display brightness.

• Short Press: Cycles through the various color modes / color palettes.

• Press and Hold: Opens the OSD menu on the screen to adjust image positioning, pixel effects (scanlines), and fine settings.
